I think Eric’s ideal job would be for someone to pay him to play the “Outreach” video game.
He had just graduated high school and wasn’t sure what he wanted to do in life. He loved computers, people not so much. The thought of coming to The Center, another school, depressed him. After a few years of minimum paying jobs, he decided to build upon his computer skills for a well-paying career.
He was a star student; completing all four of Microsoft Suite Certifications in a few months. Along the way, he found he really liked helping other students, so he applied to be a peer instructor at The Center. After six months of volunteering and passing his Microsoft Office Master exams, he was hired. A year later, he became licensed by NYSED/BPSS. He assists Ed Pinkowski, our Director of Instruction in training instructors at our White Plains, Yonkers and New Rochelle locations. He also enrolled in night courses at Westchester Community College and continues to grow his career.
When he looks back a few years, he can’t believe the progress he’s made, how grown up and responsible he is now. His parents are very proud and relieved!
